A Fantastic Moving Experience

I met Chandler at a class she taught on downsizing, and I got her card and flyer.

I called her when I was recovering from knee/hip replacement surgery because I realized my home had too many stairs and I needed to move to an independent living facility.

Chandler helped me decide what furniture I needed to sell, and what needed to be done to my home to get it ready to put on the market. She was there with me every step of the way. She gave me homework so I could get some things done on my own.

After we got my furniture sold, Chandler and her team cleaned the entire house so it sparkled, and they even did the year work! My home sold in 4 days!

I couldn't have done it without Chandler and her team. I found Chandler to be conscientious and she had wonderful follow through. I would recommend her to anyone downsizing and making a move. I call the move I made an "Incredible Miracle move."

She did a wonderful job organizing each room. Thanks to organizational skills and great space saving ideas, I can know clean my keep my house clean and tidy myself.

I recently moved from my duplex to a new and larger home and was very apprehensive about all that would be involved in the move. I am a recent widow and do not have relatives or close friends available to help me.

In April, 2005, I received a call from another Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) referring to me a retired gentleman who was planning to sell his home in Des Moines and move back to Boston, MA to be with his family. (His wife had passed away several years ago).

Shortly thereafter, I visited the seller's home on several occasions to get acquainted with him. While there, I made suggestions to him regarding what needed to be done before putting his home on the market. After returning to the home and finding that the seller was not able to make decisions regarding what he should sell and what he should take with him, I determined that he needed some outside professional help.

Back at my desk at Iowa Realty, I noticed under "The Iowa Advantage" brochure a listing for Home Transitions, Inc. I called Chandler Bupp, and made an appointment for us to visit the seller together. At the conclusion of our visit, the seller decided he would like to use Chandler's services.

Chandler was a tremendous asset in helping the seller decide what furniture and household items to take with him to his new home. She also helped the seller dispose of remaining items by way of consignment shops, eBay, and Goodwill.

Chandler was very patient with the seller and knowledgeable regarding resources to dispose of items he didn't want to take with him. The seller has now moved to Massachusetts. Without Chandler's help, I don't think this would have been possible.

May I tell you a bit about my personal experience with this company?

My husband passed away late in January after living in a 5-level home he had built some 52 years ago. He was a "saver" and seldom parted with any of his life's treasures. I was without any previous experience in moving or making the decisions necessary to move to a retirement center. Having Chandler handle the entire logistics of a smooth and almost a "fun" move was a real blessing for me.

Chandler arranged the sale of all tools and workshop machines to private parties with connections she had to hobby people. Her disposal and record-keeping of all items to charities for tax purposes was especially appreciated. No garage sales for this capable worker!

After Chandler engaged a reputable mover, she arranged and personally packed and documented with computer disc records the consignment of the considerable silver and porcelain inheritance from my husband's 30+ years of storage. The auction gallery devoted an entire section of their summer catalog to this consignment - all beautifully packed for a safe transport.

She had arranged for transfer of my accounts and phone installation before the move - things I would certainly not thought about. Moving day was so pleasant it was almost fun..and she drove me in my car to my new garage. How much more could a new widow ask of a Transition Company??

This is really just a sketch of what Chandler managed for me. You can easily see why I have no problem in recommending her company - if you are lucky enough to engage their service. None of my friends can believe I made this move in less than 6 weeks! And I Love my new place and my new life.
